I'm ready, but he's not

It's officially our due date, but no sign of Ben yet. Just lots of waiting on this little man. I look more pleased in the picture than I really am, but I'm trying to be patience. Lots of food and cut throat pitch played this long holiday weekend. Come out soon Ben, we're ready! My belly can't handle anymore.

The Nursery is ready

Well, I have to say, I'm pretty happy with the way that everything turned out. Ben's room is done!!! Thanks James, Tori & Mom!

Of course I could obsess over some imperfections (I hate the cheap press board built ins and bad dry walling), but I need to save my energy for what lies ahead very soon! Any day now according to the doctor. Will we have a turkey baby? This pop up timer is out. I think I've been a good sport until this past Thursday when just about everything has become uncomfortable. I never realized how much the average person bends down in one day until recently. Next pregnancy I'm getting one of these tools. My belly will thank me.

So lucky!

Another great shower hosted by my sister Tori and good friend Liz! Here are some of the photos to recap the event. Plus, I was very lucky to have Tori on some much needed sewing projects. Hoping the new window coverings next to the front door curtail Willie's barking.

13 days until the supposed "go-time!"

Fun with the ladies

Thanks to my mom's wonderful friends, I had a great shower this last weekend. And the weekend before with some great ladies from my street. I can't thank everyone enough for their generosity and participation in these baby parties! I love this photo of James' grandma Inez and I, although I can't remember (shocking) what exactly was so funny at the moment this was taken.

What will Benjamin look like?

Most fun I've had on a Saturday morning in awhile. I love this app!
From top to bottom, it shows what he'll look like if he's most likely like his mother, then his father, then a combo of both.

32 week profile

Baby B appears to be doing great and things seem to be progressing well in my ever expanding belly. The countdown begins and LOTS to be done before we meet this little guy.

29.5 Weeks

"You must be right around your due date, right?" '
"No, I still have 2.5 months"
"Oh"
That was my conversation with the lady this morning at the bakery as I found the largest morning treat going into work this AM. (Yum, fresh berry coffee cake)

James said the first picture here didn't do my size justice, so I felt the need for the direct belly shot to really give you an idea. Only good thing about the second picture is that my protruding belly button appears to have disappeared with the sexy spandex.

So far, so good. My only complaint is my legs. It's a good thing I have a desk job, cause by the end of the day, I can barely stand up and could easily do without terrible leg cramps/pains in the middle of the night. Between work, prenatal water aerobics, mamalates (like pilates for pregnant people), and baby clothes shopping (I don't even like shopping, but can't help myself, the clothes out there are too cute), I'm staying way too busy and we've made no progress on the nursery since the last picture. But somehow it'll all get done, right!?

28 weeks with Shawn

Very fun to have Shawn in town this weekend to visit. Can't wait to make him an uncle again. Kids love him!

The Other Baby

Great time at the beach this past weekend. Nothing like the sunshine, sand, good food, our furry friends and those close to you. Here's our first baby Willie (aka Mr. Wills) soaking in a beautiful sunset.

The Great Adventure of Baby "B"

Well, here it is. Our attempt to track the pregnancy and beyond on Baby "B". Not sure yet what to expect out of this blog or how good I'll be keeping it updated, but I'll do my best.

I'm at 26 weeks today. The baby is the size of an English hothouse cucumber. Not sure how that is different than a regular cucumber, but whatever size he is, he's a busy boy. He likes to squirm, kick, poke at every chance when I'm still, which is 5 days a week at work. The other 2 days, we've been very busy starting to prep the nursery and every other imperfection I can find around the house to do. Phase 1 complete with new paint, carpet and chaise lounge. Next, molding and curtains. James had to cut the back legs off the chaise to get it up the stairs, but I have no doubt he'll make it all perfect again. It was a sad moment however when it arrived after being reupholstered and we realized that we never took into consideration our skinny stairs.

Well, stay tuned for the next update. Although I'm not sure how many belly shots I want taken or house projects people are interested in, but I'll do my best.

Inez's 95th Birthday

What a lady!

The last video was in response to what Inez wanted to do when she turned 100!
